the meteors ples vampirjev grossmann 2011

Formed in 1980, The Meteors were the first to mix horror and science fiction lyrics with a punk rock-rockabilly crossover. It was the birth of Psychobilly sound, adopted by many bands since. With their wild gigs that featured guitarist/vocalist Paul Fenech's ritual of spitting (chicken) blood during performances, they have soon gathered a loyal following. Many clubs refused to book them, so they began playing punk clubs alongside bands such as The Clash, The Damned, Anti-Nowhere League and the UK Subs. However, they have always insisted that their shows be "a politics and religion free zone" in order to focus on having a good time. They have gone through many line-up changes, with Fenech being the only original member today. They have 25 official albums, countless singles, and numerous compilation appearances. They continue to record using their own recording studios In Heaven (based in an old church) and also Maddog Studios (a 58 metre high tower in Germany). Paul Fenech is also a prolific and successful writer of horror film music and has written extensively for television and many other films (using a pseudonym). At this year's Grossmann, a special treat awaits all fans of the original Psychobilly sound, as well as all lovers of wild rock'n'roll, horror and science fiction in general!
