According to family tradition, clumsy Javier gets a job in a circus as the Sad Clown. Every day at work he has to take abuse from the brutish Happy Clown Sergio. When Javier sets his eyes on Sergio's wife, the gorgeous acrobat Natalia, things get even more complicated. A ferocious clash of the clowns is inevitable.

In his latest film, which is coming to Slovenian theatres in August, Alex de la Iglesia once again brilliantly and seamlessly combines different genres, from comedy and melodrama to action and splatter, while adding an extra dose of surrealism. At last year's Venice Film Festival, The Last Circus brought Alex de la Iglesia the Silver Lion for best direction and Best Screenplay Award.
