| Devastated by the Great Epidemic, the world is governed by hordes of the living dead. Igor and Alen, two hunters of the dead, along with scientist Gyno, try to find an answer to what has happened to the human race. Alen and Igor leave for two days of hunting to find new zombies for Gyno's research. Many dangers await them, the greatest of them is the feared Plague-Spreader, supposed craftsman of the epidemic. In their debut feature, distributed by our last year's guest Uwe Boll, horror enthusiasts Marco Ristori and Luca Boni masterfully demonstrate that Italian zombie film is still alive, dangerous and a great deal of fun. With its upgrading of tradition of Romero and Fulci, nihilistic atmosphere, and buckets of blood and gore, Eaters is a welcome and delightful entry in the always popular zombie subgenre. |
