Dear Grossmann monsters! The first ever Monster Walk in the world was a humongous succes thanks to the tireless and brilliant professional film special and visual FX crews Lakobrija FX (Miroslav Lakobrija, Samir Bastoni, Svetlana Pavlović, Ana Teklerović) and Mad Squirrel FX (Sendy Kumalakanta, Lana Rakanović, Beca Rakanović) from Belgrade. Neither in Graz nor in Philadelphia could you find such a massive monstruous gathering! We loudly and sincerely thank both fantastic crews, the monster masters Coffin Joe and Lizvamp, morbid visionary Max Cavalera, voodo rock experts Nero Burns and of course to all of you who merrily participated in this unique and unforgettable event! You can find tons of photos from the putrid procession in our galleries section. Very soon you shall also be able to watch the walk in its unearthly glory on the one and only Grossmann TV. LAKOBRIJA FX Miroslav Lakobrija, a sculpturer by education, has been an avid fan of horror and sci-fi since his childhood. He has contributed special effects to films such as TT Sindrome, Tailor's Secret, Little Night Music and Saint George Slays the Dragon. With his team, he made hordes of the decomposing dead for the first ex-Yu zombie film Zone of the Dead. After creating the shockingly realistic effects for The Life and Death of a Porno Gang, he is once again in the spotlight due to the humongous gore which he and his crew contributed for the hottest ex-Yu export item lately, the infamous Serbian Film. As a member of Mladi kadrovi group, he also makes short films such as Riblock of the Danube, cult series Patient and Trash Film Festival 2008 winner Dragon Rage. He also provides effects for TV and commercials. http://www.lakobrija.com MAD SQUIRREL FX Mad Squirrel FX crew consists of Sendy Kumalakanta and sisters Lana and Beca Rakanović. Their interests and activities outside the studio include sculpting, body art and collaboration with theatre and TV. They formed in 2004 during the shooting of Stevan Filipović’s Sheitan’s Warrior in which they set completely new standards for visual and special FX in Serbian film production. Sheitan’s Warrior won awards at numerous festivals, including the Vicious Cat at Grossmann 2006. Oscar winner Richard Taylor liked their work in this film so much that he invited them to the famous Weta Workshop for a visit. After working on Tears for Sale, they are collaborating with Filipović again on his new film Skinning, while also being busy with the fantasy film Elf’s Tale. http://www.myspace.com/sendykumalakanta |
